Investment Fees Infographic

Investment fees cover some important costs to help ensure that one’s investments are managed well. It is vital for clients to know what fees they are charged and what the fees pay for. This Investment Fees infographic highlights what Management Expense Ratios (MERs) pay for.

What’s in an MER?

In a single investment, a defined percentage is used to pay for the cost of managing an investment. This may include items like fund administration, research, and support. Operating costs may include such things as regulatory costs, prospectuses and financial statements. Taxes are also included in the MER in addition to a trailing commission. All these items are detailed in the investment Facts document, and it’s important for clients to find additional information.

“Whether hiring a plumber or trying to buy a car, there’s a cost to doing business. And investing is no different.”

This Investment Fees Infographic will help financial professionals to navigate the conversation about fees with clients.
